Tangdar 15 August (KNO) : Appealing government to rehabilitate the cloud burst effected families and traders of Kranah, AIP President Er. Rasheed has questioned the absence of senior government officials to the area till now. Er. Rasheed today visited along with other colleagues to Tangdar and took stock of the situation on spot.

On the occasion Er. Rasheed said “While roads, electricity and water supply has been badly damaged in entire Tangdar and Bagh Bela areas, dozens of traders have been rendered helpless and are now left to the mercy of the administration.

The destruction and devastation caused by the cloud burst is huge and needs immediate remedy. Scores of residential houses have also been damaged and the property worth crores has been destroyed”. Er. Rasheed added that the traders running wholesale and retail business in the entire market deserve immediate relief and rehabilitation as their goods along with the shops have been damaged in totality. On the occasion locals alleged that due to carelessness of Beacon Authorities the devastations is huge.

Er. Rasheed said “Even a layman could have advised beacon authorities to take care of HFL (Highest Flood Level) and due to the low height of abutments on all the bridges and culverts over the road and the Nallah, flow of flood got chocked due to sudden cloud burst which resulted in huge damage. He warned beacon authorities of dire consequences if they still failed to understand the urgency of constructing few culverts, to ensure proper flow of water. Er. Rasheed appealed masses all over to pay their donations either directly to the cloud burst victims or through Joint effort trust (JET) under account NO, 1130/SB J&K Bank Qalamabad, so that the society doesn’t fail people of Karnah who currently need all sorts of assistance from the government and their fellow brothers across Kashmir.

He reminded government that when similar tragedy had occurred in Ladakh region, it was not declare only national calamity but the victims were by and large compensated to the best possible extent by the government and there is no reason why people of Tangdar and adjoining areas should not be rehabilitated on the same pattern.
